Book Review: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time  by Mark Haddon. I've been wanting to review this book for a while now. I would class it as one of my many personal favourites. It's a very "intelligent" book, it's also very quirky, which makes it fun to read. I honestly only put the book down four times after I started reading it. If you like Counting by Sevens, then you'll definitely love this. Christopher knows all the countries of the world and their capitals and every prime number up to 7,057. He relates to animals, but cannot understand human emotions. He hates being touched and he detests the color yellow. Everyday interactions mean little to him. Gifted with a super-logical brain, he lives on patterns, rules, and a diagram he keeps in his pocket. One night, 15 year old Christopher finds his neighbours dog Wellington slaughtered with a pitchfork. When Christopher is blamed for killing the dog, he sets about to find the killer just like his favourite detective, Sherlock Holmes.

Overall this is an amazing book. It's both fun to read, but intense at the same time. I would recommend it for ages 13+ as it contains language, themes and violence. A gripping book.
