Book Review: Wonder
Wonder by R.J Palacio. I recently went to see Wonder at the movies and it was amazing. A really awesome movie, you should definitely watch it if you've read and liked the book (I will definitely post a Based on the Book). When I was watching Wonder, I thought it would be unfair not to do a review of this eye-opening book. Auggie Pullman was born with major facial deformities. It's never been easy for him. Little kids scream when they see him. Older kids make fun of him and call him a freak. His mum tried to protect him from all of that by home-schooling him. Until now. Auggie is about to start 5th grade at Beecher Prep and he is plunged into a world where no one can see past how he looks. And like any other person, being the new kid is never easy especially with someone as unique as August. Some of the kids are welcoming like Summer and Jack. Others aren't like Julian and Henry.
I love this book and I really don't know how to put into words how good it is. Also the fact that it is from different perspectives makes it really interesting. You're almost guaranteed to love it. I would recommend it to boys and girls ages 10+ as it might difficult in parts for younger kids to understand. It contains barely any violence and was an excellent book.
